Should The Wst Coast Open?

In my opinion I think that the West Coast region should not open up at all! The way that COVID 19 is partly getting around is transmission and while it is Alert Level Three people are extending their bubbles to people. So that means you need to have trust with who you're preparing to expand your bubble with. As you don't want someone in your bubble that's popping everyone's bubble then coming back to your bubble, that kind of behaviour creates a massive chain link. For example if you have the virus and you see someone outside your bubble then that person would be around their people then their people would be around their people and so on... It all comes down to who has been seeing who and that could easily spread the virus around so many people. Even though moving down to alert level 2 and we’re allowed to see family it could still be dangerous if people don’t follow some of the restrictions. I love my family to bits but I don’t want to put their lives at risk with this virus around and I definitely don’t want to be the person that carries the virus around to everyone. The Coast is a caring, kind and loyal place where we are alway helping each other and that has been put to a stop (just the helping each other bit). So say if a family that had a crying baby, moaning children and stressed parents had a car that broke down on the side of the road, people would pull over and help them but since we’re in lockdown we can’t which isn’t that amazing. I would not open the Coast up and risk the innocent lives of our people and if we were to open the region up I would put big road blockers to block people from coming on to the Coast. They were some of the reasons I believe the Coast shouldn’t open even though I put one reason on the good side.

  1. Well done, Maliah. you make some very good points about why we should stay closed. The decision will be a very hard one for the Prime Minister to make.
